This toolkit produced on behalf of the University of central Lancashire draws from the experiences at the different voices in Global Conversations conference. The conference was held alongside the Children, Young people and Adults: Extending the Conversation Conference, hosted by the University of Central Lancashire in partnership with the International Childhood and Youth Research Network. Its aim is to advise future conference organisers on effective methods for encouraging youth participation in conference.
The conference held form the 5th to7th September 2012 worked with Children and young people from many different countries across the world bringing them together for a conversation with each other as well as the adult academics and practitioners attending the parallel conference.
The work of “The Centre”, a forum for shared thinking set up by UCLan to support young people carry out their own research, the conference set out to improve the use of youth participation in conference at all levels this toolkit explains what aspects of this experience worked well along with improvements that could be made in the future to ensure best practice in youth participation in conference.
